Content engineering? Intelligent information architectures? If you look closely, these terms encompass familiar properties such as consistency; modular structure; semantics; and comprehensible, target group-oriented content. When you are considering digitalization, there are other requirements too: Accessibility, responsiveness, and the ability to find things, e.g., in content delivery portals. So, it's good that we’re your partner, so that your product and service information will fulfill these requirements. Then you can profit from our knowledge transfer.

Content management design and content management guidelines

Based on the proven functional design standardization method developed by Schäflein-Armbruster and Muthig, we develop a content management design tailored to your target groups, document types, and company-specific requirements. We document this content management design in content management guidelines. For the specific implementation, we create clear sample content that serves you as a template for future work.

Methodical document analysis

Frequently, our customers realize that their documentation is suboptimal. But where, precisely, are the weak points? We apply a methodical approach called problem typology to analyzing your documents/content. This typology, developed by Prof. Robert Schäflein-Armbruster, includes an extensive catalogue of typical weak points in technical documentation. We systematically record all aspects and can define them precisely. The result? Is used as the basis for optimization in the course of a content management design.

Just to be sure:
Law and standards

As a manufacturer, you are familiar with specifications for putting your products on the market. There are also European and international product safety laws and recommended standards that affect technical documentation. That's our part. So that your documentation is complete, it complies with the proven editorial principles according to 82079-1, and your risk assessment is expressed in comprehensible safety and warning information.

The concern is to exclude as many liability risks as possible - we will check your documentation:

  • Which legal requirements and standards are relevant for your product?
  • Are horizontal standards that affect all product areas sufficiently considered?
  • Do your instructions detail all residual risks that arise from the risk analysis?
  • Is safety and warning information in the right place and designed so that it complies with standards?
  • You’ll get solid feedback with specific suggestions for improvement.

Modularization with a horizon

Modularization serves to divide content into reusable units called topics. Display on smartphones and tablets increases the requirements for modularization because content must be organized in smaller, more precise units. Our modularization concept is aimed at implementing these requirements and considers the possibilities of the content management system used, e.g., in the form of fragments, content filtered via taxonomies, and publication tailored to the end user device.

Practically oriented training

For many customers, implementing a content management system goes hand in hand with our individually tailored and practical trainings. We work with customers to teach them how to work with the new system – from the basics to the tasks of a power user who knows how to reach the goal faster with certain tips and tricks. And of course, we will also help get you fit in adjacent topic areas, so that implementing a content management design and custom-tailored modularization become second nature for you.

Use SCHEMA ST4 optimally with insider knowledge

What's actually in SCHEMA ST4? Customers often rightfully suspect that more would be better. As part of our projects, we have seen many different ST4 installations, more than 50 so far, in fact. What have we seen? Usage is not ideal. Are there possibilities for improvement? Optimization potential? Now we're talking! And we’re your partner, for developing and implementing designs jointly, so that you will be able to use SCHEMA ST4 optimally in the future. And work more efficiently. Because we're Dokuwerk, not just another service provider.
