3. Data collection on our website

Cookies
Some of our web pages use cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain any viruses. They are used to make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are what are known as “session cookies”. They are deleted automatically at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain saved on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognise your browser the next time you visit.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies so that you can decide to allow cookies on an individual basis, accept cookies for certain cases only, or generally reject cookies. You can also have cookies automatically deleted when you close your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Cookies that are necessary to allow electronic communications or to provide certain functions you wish to use (such as the shopping basket) are stored pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies to ensure optimised provision of a service that is free of technical errors. If other cookies (such as those used to analyse your surfing behaviour) are also stored, they will be addressed separately in this privacy statement.

Server log files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits to us in “server log file”. This data is:

• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL
• Host name of the accessing computer
• Time of the server request
• IP address

This data will not be combined with data from other sources.
The basis for data processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, which allows the processing of data to fulfil a contract or for pre-contractual measures.

Contact form
Should you send us inquiries via the contact form, we will collect the data entered in the form, including the contact details you provide, to respond to your query and for any follow-up questions. We do not share this information without your permission.

We therefore process any data you enter in the contact form only with your consent as per Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may revoke your consent at any time. An informal e-mail requesting this is sufficient. This shall not affect the legality of data processing procedures prior to the revocation.

We will retain the data you provide in the contact form until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for its storage, or the reason for its storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been fully processed). Mandatory legal provisions, especially those regarding data retention periods, remain unaffected by this provision.

Processing of data (customer and contract data)
We collect, process, and use personal data only insofar as it is necessary to establish, define or modify legal relationships with us (master data). This is performed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, which allows the processing of data to fulfil a contract or for pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use your personal data when you access our website (usage data) only to the extent required to enable you to access our service or to bill you for the same.
The collected customer data shall be deleted following completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Legal retention periods remain unaffected.

4. Analytics tools and advertising

Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files that are saved on your computer and enable analysis of how you use the website. The information regarding your use of the website generated by the cookie is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and saved there.

Google Analytics cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both the website and advertising.

IP anonymisation
We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. As a result, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the US and abbreviated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to website and Internet use. The IP address of your browser transmitted in the scope of Google Analytics will not be merged with any other Google data.

Browser plugin
You can refuse the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

Objection to data collection
You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie is set, which prevents collection of your data on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics.
For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.

Commissioned data processing
We have concluded a contract with Google for commissioned data processing and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities for the use of Google Analytics.

Demographic features on Google Analytics
This website uses the “demographic features” Google Analytics function. This allows reports to be created that contain information on the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-related advertising by Google and from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be attributed to a specific person. You can disable this feature at any time via your Google Account ad preferences or opt-out of Google Analytics collecting your information as described in the "Objection to data collection" section.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies so that you can decide to allow cookies on an individual basis, accept cookies for certain cases only, or generally reject cookies. You can also have cookies automatically deleted when you close your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

5. Newsletter

Newsletter data
If you would like to receive our newsletter, we require an e-mail address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified e-mail address and that you agree to receive this newsletter. No additional data is collected or is only collected on a voluntary basis. We use this data solely to send the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

We therefore process any data you enter in the newsletter subscription form only with your consent as per Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can revoke the consent to the storage of your data and e-mail address as well as their use for sending the newsletter at any time, e.g. using the "unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. This shall not affect the legality of previous data processing procedures.

The data provided when subscribing to the newsletter will be used to distribute the newsletter until you cancel your subscription when said data will be deleted. Data that we have stored for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members’ area) remains unaffected by this.

MailChimp
This website uses the services of MailChimp for sending newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service that can be used to send, organise and analyse newsletters, among other things. If you enter data for the purpose of newsletter subscription (e.g. e-mail address), this is stored on MailChimp servers in the USA.
MailChimp is certified according to the “EU-US-Privacy-Shield”. The “Privacy Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA.
With the help of MailChimp, we can analyse our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent using MailChimp, a file contained in the e-mail (known as a web beacon) connects to the MailChimp servers in the USA. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links have been clicked on. In addition, technical information is recorded (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the individual newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of the analysis can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not want MailChimp to analyse your data, you must unsubscribe from the Newsletter. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter message. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.
The data is processed based on your consent as per Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. This shall not affect the legality of previous data processing procedures.
The data provided when subscribing to the newsletter will be used to distribute the newsletter and, once you cancel your subscription, will be deleted from both our servers and MailChimp’s servers. Data that we have stored for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members’ area) remains unaffected by this.
For more information, see MailChimp’s data privacy regulations under: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

Conclusion of a data processing agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp, in which we oblige MailChimp to protect our customers’ data and not to pass it on to third parties. This agreement can be viewed under: https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement/sample-agreement/

6. Plugins and tools

YouTube
Our website uses plugins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you visit one of our pages that has a YouTube plugin, a connection is established to YouTube’s servers. YouTube is informed which of our pages you visited.

If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you allow YouTube to associate your surfing behaviour directly with your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

We use YouTube to help make our website appealing. This constitutes a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Further information about the handling of user data can be found in YouTube’s data privacy policy under https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=uk.

Google Maps
This site uses the Google Maps map service via an API. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
To use the Google Maps functions, it is necessary to save your IP address. This information is generally transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer.
We use Google Maps to help make our website appealing and to make it easier to find the locations specified on our website. This constitutes a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
Further information about the handling of user data can be found in Google’s data privacy policy under https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=uk

7. Social media

XING Plugin
We use components of the XING.com network on our site. These components are a service of XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany.

We would like to inform you here about the processing of personal data via the XING Share button function.
The XING Share button is used on this website. When you access this website, your browser is used to establish a short-term connection to XING SE servers (“XING”), with which the "XING Share Button" functions (in particular the calculation/display of the meter value) are executed. XING does not store any personal data about you when you access this website. In particular, XING does not store any IP addresses. There is also no evaluation of your usage behaviour via the use of cookies in connection with the “XING Share Button”. The latest data protection information regarding the "XING Share Button" and additional information can be called up on this website:

LinkedIn Plugin
We use components of the LinkedIn network on our site. LinkedIn is a service of LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Every time you visit our website, which is equipped with such a component, this component causes the browser you use to download a corresponding representation of the LinkedIn component.
This process informs LinkedIn which specific page of our website is currently being visited. If you click the LinkedIn “Recommend button” while logged into your LinkedIn account, you can link the contents of our pages on your LinkedIn profile. This enables LinkedIn to assign the visit of our pages to your LinkedIn user account.
We can neither influence the data that LinkedIn collects in this process nor the extent of the data collected by LinkedIn. We also do not have any knowledge of the specific content of data transferred to LinkedIn. For details on data collection by LinkedIn as well as your rights and configuration options, see LinkedIn’s data privacy information.
