Automated graphics processes

In addition to the source format, graphics are often required in other formats, such as:

• High resolution for print editions
• Optimized for online publication(s)
• Greatly reduced for fast preview.

Carrying out these conversions by hand is a laborious, time-consuming process that is prone to errors.

Conversions at the push of a button

We automate conversions that need to be done frequently using scripts in Photoshop, Illustrator or Inkscape. For example, we automatically create a graphics input/output folder, enabling us to generate conversions in specific target formats from graphic files in the input folder depending on the input image (!) and stored rules. The resulting files are stored centrally and in a defined quality.

We also help you to integrate automatic conversions into your editing or catalogue system. Before doing this, we first check your minimum requirements and the standards on which the conversion will be based.

Processing images in the CAD development process

We import CAD data via export formats (IGES, STEP) to PTC's Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess and continue processing them in this tool, e.g., displaying and hiding components. In the next step, we export the file into a 2-D format such as EPS or SVG. This file can then be imported into an editing or catalogue system or an image database.

The advantage of this tool is that 3-D processing no longer has to be done in the CAD programme. This reduces your staff's workload and saves time-consuming loops. Furthermore, a modified CAD file can be reimported from PTC's IsoDraw (Link2Source Technologie™). In this way, it is possible to update the conditioned files, thus ensuring a continuous process.
